LAZARUS TAKAWIRA
Born in 1952 in Nyanga, Zimbabwe. Lives and works in Harare (Zimbabwe)
Lazarus Takawira is the youngest of three sculptor brothers. Sculpting the hard serpentine stone, he lets emerge figures of women with mysterious faces, who sometimes recall the work of Modigliani.
Lazarus’ works are included in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, as well as in various public collections, including the Rodin Museum in Paris, the World Bank in New York, the Museum of Tervuren in Belgium.
