Ndoye Douts
Born in 1973 in Sangalkam, Senegal. Lives and works in Dakar.
A graduate of the National School of Arts in Dakar, Mouhamadou Ndoye ‘Douts’ recreates in his work the chaotic universe of African cities. Medina, the neighborhood where he lives and works, is his main source of inspiration. He has a taste for detail and his brush has an allusive force that recalls the style of expressionists. Human silhouettes are deliberately suggested by blurred, neglected contours.
Exhibited in Beaubourg in 2005 during the Africa Remix exhibition, Douts is also a videographer and was awarded for an animated film; “Medina train-train”.
